FAQ

Please see the answers below to some of our frequently asked questions.

Q. What do I do with my belongings while I am taking a test?

A. DSS provides shared cabinets for students to place their belongings in. All students are also required to check in any phones or smart watches with a DSS staff. These items will be in a locked cabinet for the duration of the test.

Q. Am I able to take my exam any day or time that I want?

A. No. All students are required to take their exams the same day and time as the class unless other arrangements have been made with the instructor. Any exams taken out of the regular class day and time must have approval from your instructor. The approval may be sent to DSS with the exam, by email or phone call.

Q. Do I have to make an appointment to take an exam or quiz in DSS for on campus classes? (This only applies for exams on campus by special arrangement at this time)

A. Yes. All students must make their testing appointment three (3) business days before the testing date or five (5) days prior for any special needs such as: Braille, Kurzweil, Enlargements, Scribe, etc. Please remind your instructor that you are taking an exam in DSS as well.

Q. Do you provide scantrons, blue books, pencils, etc.?

A. No. All students must bring their own exam materials as required by the instructor. DSS will only provide blank, unlined scratch paper.

A. No. These accommodation letters are only valid for your Cypress College courses. You will need to register with the DSS office on the campus in which you are attending. If you need assistance with this, please let us know!
